Welcome to low carb menus free low carb recipe.

The hardest part of any low carb diet is not to fall victim to boredom. If I had to pick the number one reason why most
people fail in their low carb diets, boredom would top the list.

People get tired of the same thing everyday. Having eggs and bacon every day for breakfast, plain hamburger for lunch
and one pork chop for dinner can drive even the most dedicated low carb dieter up the wall. A plain, bland low carb diet will eventually wear a person down and eventually they'll call it quits. Most people can't face to monotony (I
know I can't).

If you want to survive on a low carb diet, you're going to have to enjoy what your eating. Your going to need variety and flavor. This is the secret to any diet let alone a low carb diet. You're going to need special dishes, easy to make dishes and on those special days, comfort food dishes. Yes, I know, comfort food dishes are not supposed to be good for you but trust me, they are necessary. If you want to keep your sanity, you'll include a variety of dishes including comfort food dishes.

Specialty Low Carb Foods

Specialty low carb foods have taken the market by storm in the last 5 years. As more and more people discovered the weight loss potential of a low carb diet, truckloads of low carb products hit the market. some of the specialty low carb foods are great and unfortunately, some are bad.

The thing I like about specialty low carb foods is that they provide variety. This definetly helps when boredom sets in and your current low carb diet starts to become a little blah. Specialty low carb foods also can help those of you who are carbodydrate intolerant.

One of the problems with specialty low carb foods is finding a store dedicated enough to have enough low carb foods in stock. Not only that, you will have to trust that company. I live in a pretty big city and I still have a fairly hard time finding a store dedicated to stocking quality low carb foods. If your like me and have a hard time trying to find quality low carb specialty foods, than you might want to check out an online store like SynergyDiet.com. They have everything from low carb breads, bagels, tortillas, desserts, flour alternatives, and everything in between. An online supermarket offering food products for the low carbohydrate dieter. They Fedex everything so the shipping is super fast.

A word of caution. Specialty low carb foods are a little more expensive since low carb foods are more expensive to make.
I strongly suggest that you use specialty low carb foods wisely to add a little variety in your diet.

When using a free low carb recipe that calls for butter, please try and use butter. Margarine tends to be somewhat of a nasty ingredient. Margarine is full of hydrogenated oils, trans fats, and generally full of unhealty stuff.

Flour is out for the most part, when it comes to low carb diets and low carb cooking. Flour serves a few different purposes in cooking, from making baked goods such as cakes to thickening sauces such as cream based recipes. For our purposes, we will use different ingredients to "substitute" these methods. Here are some of the more popular flour substitutes.

Oat flour
Rolled oats
Brans
Ground nuts such as almonds and hazelnuts
Rice protein powder
Low carbohydrate bake mix
Soy flour

Generally, you can find the above flour substitutes at your nearest health food store. Although the low carb bake mix
might be a little difficult for you to get. If you are interested in using the low carb bake mix, try going to Synergy Diet.com.

As for using sugar, I suggest you try and use a sugar substitute such as Stevia or Splenda. Stevia is super sweet so as compared to sugar. Splenda on the other hand measure just like sugar so you don't have to fool around with getting the right portions. My first choice is Splenda because it tasted fantastic and it measure like sugar.

I strongly suggest you get into the habit of reading labels. Food manufacturers have a nasty habit of putting sugar, corn starch, corn syrup and other nutritionally void ingredients into their products.
