General Impressions:

When I first read this low carb diet I noticed that Salvatore doesn't waste any time getting into the thick of things. The book is a no nonsense, practical guide at losing weight and body fat through low carb dieting. Salvatore uses his own personal experience to really drive home the benefits of using a low carb diet.

Salvatore's first paragraph is what he calls "First Things First". This clears up any confusion as to what you need to avoid right up front. What I really enjoyed about Salvatore's book is the fact that he uses his own personal experience and maps out a plan that anyone can use. He describes in detail his "old" way of eating and from there, he takes you on a step by step plan of how he managed to get his weight and out of control binging habits under control.

The book provides wonderful details about what you should and shouldn't eat while on your low carb diet. Salvatore uses his own experience as a guide to help you understand that low carb dieting is a way of life and not merely a fad. I think this is very important for someone on a low carb diet to understand.

I enjoyed reading this book because it provided me with a look at a day in the life of someone who's been there and knows what it's like to be overweight and addicted to carbs.

doesn't. This book will show you how to structure your low carb diet and what you should be avoiding. Here is an exerpt from the very first page of the book;

"First, try to stop using caffeine. Caffeine makes it a little more difficult to lose the weight. If you have a hard
time quitting the caffeine kick - take my advice:

Pour half caffeine and half decaffeinated for a week. The next week do 3/4 decaffeinated and 1/4 caffeine. After that
you should be okay to stop using caffeine altogether."

This is from comming fromsomeone who used to drink 40 ounces of coffee every morning!

hype.
