Hydroxycut review
Welcome to low carb menus Hydroxycut review.
General impressions:
Hydroxycut first came on the scene back in mid 1990's. Hydroxycut, by MuscleTech Research and Development Inc., is widely
regarded as a premier fat burning supplement on the market today. The product comes from MuscleTech who put in millions each year on product research and development. You can
be sure the product is 100% legitimate. In an industry notorious for flagrant larceny and unscrupulous marketing,
MuscleTech has built a trusted reputation, allocating a significant portion of every dollar earned to their multi
million dollar research budget.
Who's it designed for?
Individuals on weight loss and body fat reduction programs. Works well with weight training regiments.
What's in it?
Hydroxycut is comprised of a unique blend of fat fighting ingredients. It also contains a proprietary formulation known
as Hydroxygen, which contains a compound clinically shown to help blunt the effects of an enzyme in the body responsible
for the conversion of excess carbohydrates to fat. Thus, in addition to quickly reducing unwanted fat, Hydroxagen helps
prevent the storage of excess carbs as fat.
Just three of the ingredients found in the formulation of Hydroxycut were shown in a documented clinical trial to increase
the rate of fat loss by 613 percent to diet alone. You read right, 613%. But how you ask?
The active ingredients in Hydroxycut are:
Hydroxagen(garcina Cambogia)
Guarana Extract
MaHuang Extract
L-Carnitine
Chromium Picolinate
Hydroxagen is made up of Hydrocitric Acid (HCA).
First introduced as a diet aid to help treat obesity, hydracitric acid (HCA) is fast gaining attention in the world of
bodybuilding and fitness. HCA is obtained from the rinds of the Garcinia fruit of South Asia.
HCA is unlike such other appetite suppressants as caffeine and ephedrine in that it does not effect the central nervous
system. In addition, it does not stimulate the body to cannibalize lean muscle tissue as a fuel source. Instead, it
prevents the conversion of carbohydrates into fat.
Here's the process:
When carbs and sugars are consumed in the diet, the body reduces both to blood glucose. The glucose is then facilitated
into cells by the hormone insulin. From here glucose may have a number of different destinies. Some is stored in the liver
and muscles as glycogen. When needed, the body converts the stored glycogen back into glucose. The other primary metabolic
route of glucose is to be broken down into smaller subunits by way of the citric acid cycle.
If glucose is available in excess and not needed by the body, it is converted into fat by the process of lypogenesis.
Although humans usually don't produce a great amount of fat from carbs, any amount produced is significant as even small
quantities can block the body's fat burning process. The last step of glycolysis takes place inside the mitochondria. The
product produced is citrate, which is then sent outside the mitochondria to be broken down into sub units used in the
production of fat. Here's where HCA comes into play.
In order for citrate to be broken down the enzyme ATP citrate lyase must be present. HCA blocks the activity of this
enzyme and alters the body's fat and glucose metabolism. Besides the direct effect on fat burning, HCA has the added
benefit of indirectly suppressing appetite. After all, the body thinks it has plenty of fuel available so the brain
decreases the sensation of hunger.
L-Carnitine
L-Carnitine was first discovered back in the early 1900's by Russian Scientists. Carnitine is considered a stable member
or the B-complex family of vitamins. Carnitine's primary mechanism of action is to stimulate the transport of long chain
fatty acids across the inner membranes of mitochondria. It does this by the activation of an enzyme called carnitine
acyltransferase which transfers one group of the fat molecules to the hydroxyl group of of the carnitine molecule.
The
resulting product is then able to pass across the inner mitochondrial membrane. The end result is ATP, which can be
burned as an immediate fuel source. In plain english, carnitine converts fatty acids into an effective fuel source.
Besides it's fat burning properties, carnitine's greatest asset for athletes is its ability to speed up the intake of
oxygen into the body's cells. The result is greater availability of oxygen for the cells in times of strenuous physical
activity. Several studies have shown that carnitine supplementation increases oxygen consumption and fat utilization
during exercise.
It's imporant to note that HCA is the only product on the market (over the counter) that prohibits fat production in the
body. Recommended dosage of HCA is 1000 milligrams , two to three times per day. One of the only products to offer this
kind of dosage is Hydroxycut at 1000 milligrams per serving.
Ma haung
Although considered a relatively new supplement, ephedrine has been actually been used in Chinese medecine for thousands
of years. It has been gaining popularity, especially by bodybuilders because of it's great fat burning abilites
Ephedrine is naturally occuring and is found in the familiar Chinese herb, ma haung. In low doses ephedrine produces effects
similar to adrenaline and methamphetamines, including the sense of well being and high energy levels. Yet in high dosages,
ephedrine can raise blood pressure, increase heart rate, and in some extreme cases lead to stroke.
Research over the last 10 years seems to confirm that ephedrine speeds up the rate at which stored fat is converted into heat
energy. In one study performed at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, obese women were given 20 milligrams of
ephedrine with 200 milligrams of caffeine three time a day. They were also kept on a low fat, low calorie diet. The results
were somehwhat amazing. The diet only group lost 8.6 pounds of muscle and 9.9 pounds of fat. The ephedine group lost
2.4 pounds of lean tissue (muscle) while losing a19.8 pounds of fat.
Because of the effects of ephedrine and the studies associated with the compound, that the marketing of numerous over the
counter supplements with ephedrine as the main ingredient has flooded the market for battling obesity. A word of
caution, take ephedrine in measured dosages and stick to the lable directions.
What makes Hydroxycut so effective at burning fat is the ingredient combination.
Overall
In my opinion, Hydroxycut is one of the most complete fat burning supplement on the market today. It is backed up by
years of research and there are thousands of satisfied users. I have no problem recommending product if you are on
a weight loss and fat reduction program.
